Clean water supply at home. It’s a must.

This one might take the cake for the most important requirement for a healthy home: clean water supply. And your first consideration should be your home’s specific needs and the contaminants present in the water. This is going to inform the purification system right for your home. Your supply could contain any number of impurities: heavy metals, sediments, bacteria, chemicals like chlorine, etc. So let’s get to it.

First, we recommend contacting a local water testing company to get more information about drinking water in your community and/or to have your water tested. You can also check out the United States Environmental Protection Agency EPA website to find data about the public water system based on your zip code by clicking here.

There are several methods for purifying your home’s water, each with its own advantages:

Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems. Reverse osmosis systems are considered one of the most effective methods for whole-house removal of water contaminants. This is a great option for homes with high levels of water hardness or other contaminants.

Water Distillation Systems. Distillation systems work by boiling water and capturing the steam, which is then condensed back into pure water. This process effectively removes impurities, including minerals and chemicals. Water distillation systems are ideal for homes with high levels of total dissolved solids (TDS) in their water supply.

Carbon Filters. Carbon filters are a simple and affordable way to purify your home’s water. They work by using activated carbon to absorb impurities and contaminants, including chlorine, chemicals, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Carbon filters are available in various sizes, making them suitable for homes of all sizes.  Check out Berkey Water Filter Systems.

UV Light Systems. UV light systems use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms in your home’s water supply. These systems are highly effective and easy to install, making them a popular choice for homeowners.

Water Softening Systems. Water softening systems are designed to remove minerals that cause hardness in water, such as calcium and magnesium. These minerals can cause damage to pipes, appliances, and fixtures, and can also affect the taste of your water. Water softening systems can also improve the efficiency of other water purification systems.

By ensuring your home is equipped with a system to clean and purify your water, you ensure that you and your family have access to safe drinking water always. It’s a must.
