Use a high spin speed Before your stuff even gets to the dryer, make sure your washing machine is set on the higher spin speed cycle to remove more water before anything even gets to the dryer.
Clean the lint filter Laundry 101. Make sure to clean the lint filter before each and every load. Full stop.
Check the vent system We like to leave this task for an annual washer/dryer maintenance visit by a service pro. They are able to safely get to the vent from both the inside and outside of the home to clear it of lint and debris. Better air circulation + faster drying.
Sort the laundry Whether you separate your whites or not, why not try separate your laundry by fabric type or weight. (i.e. smaller items like socks and undies and kids t-shirts dry together while sweatpants and hoodies as a separate load). Drying clothes with similar fabric types and thickness will ensure even and faster drying.
Don’t Overload the Dryer We’ve all been there. But, we know better. By not stuffing the dryer, there is enough space for air to circulate between clothes.
Use dryer balls We like these. Tossing wool dryer balls into the dryer will help improve air circulation and soften clothes to boot.
Select the right cycle For dryers that don’t have automatic sensors, just remember to use a shorter cycle for lighter items and a longer cycle for heavier items.
